Behind The Lens

Who is the person behind the lens?

I am a fairly quiet and understanding person with the infinite capability to talk your ear off once I get to know you! I have an absolute love for bright, bold and colorful as well as the soft, muted sunny haze. Colors speak to me in a way most can’t understand until after the finished product is available to them. I love anything from modern to shabby to vintage chic, and I love to combine them for a completely new and wonderful look. I love fun and daring to sweet and whimsical and I am up for just about anything in your session.

My family is my world! They are my inspiration and my reason for bettering myself and my work! I tend to try out many things with my family (my poor kids…) before even attempting to do something for a client. I like to be prepared in that aspect of the job. If I cannot master something with them I will not try it with you. I want to give you nothing but the absolute best I can. My goal is to give you memories that you will cherish for a lifetime!

I have tucked away in my camera bag a Nikon D3000 that is currently my back up. I also have a Nikon D40x hiding in there as well and she is my go to baby! I have three lenses at my disposal and all capable of handling your portrait sessions in various ways. I have the Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens, a Nikkor 55-200mm 4-5.6 that I absolute love to use when I step back and watch you and your family just play, and my favorite portrait lens…my Nikkor 35-70mm 3.3-4.5! She is my go to lens and rarely leaves my camera as of late. Although, I do hope to replace her with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8!! I also hope to upgrade to another camera body, the Nikon D700 but alas that is a major dream right now and the Nikon D90 is on my list of must haves this year!

I currently specialize in all natural light photography, which means that your sessions can take place anywhere. Yes I said anywhere! Your newborns nursery, the park down the street, the beach, a secluded river bank, a wide open field…the possibilities are endless!

I am also learning how to set up a studio using only natural light, just to give you guys more options! Texas weather is very unpredictable and if we can’t do outdoor, I would love to have studio style be an option! I hope to have several examples of studio style added to the gallery this year.

Now that you have made it through all of this, please feel free to browse the site!
